This N.J. home is like stepping into a Hallmark movie, and is being offered at an amazing price

A home for sale in Jobstown is so charming that one potential buyer said it was like stepping into a Hallmark movie.
The bungalow has two bedrooms and one bathroom in about 1,300-square-feet. It’s listed for sale for $375,000.
“The house does feel like a big warm hug,” said Elizabeth Bohn of ERA Central Realty Group, the listing agent. “It’s a home.”
Built in 1916, it is an Aladdin Company Plaza Model. The Aladdin Company was the first company to offer a true kit house that consisted of precut, numbered pieces.
It has a 26-foot-long front porch that wraps into a 19-foot-long side porch. The original genie door knocker has been removed but the current owners will convey that and other documents from the home’s history to the buyer.
When you enter the front door, your view extends 30 feet from the living room, through the dining room. A half wall of original, built-in bookcases separate the two rooms. Just off the dining room is the entrance to the kitchen. Off the kitchen is an enclosed rear porch with removable screens for multi-season use.
The home currently has two bedrooms but it originally had three bedrooms. Two bedrooms were combined to make a larger primary bedroom, Bohn said, adding that it “could easily be converted back to a three-bedroom home” by adding a wall.
Within three days of the home being listed, Bohn had 15 showings scheduled. “It‘s just so different,” she said. “It‘s like a little jewel. It’s not a cookie-cutter home.”
The price point, of less than $400,000, is also helping it attract attention. “That’s a price point where a lot of people can‘t find what they’re looking for, especially in this condition,” Bohn said.
The current owners are the second owners of the home. They began renting it in 1990 and purchased the home in 1994.
“They have really made sure to keep it up and modernized it,” she said. “It’s just gorgeous.”
The current owners added a generator, replaced the septic, put in a deep well and closed up the shallow one and added vinyl shaker siding, among other things.
“Everything is just clean and pristine,” Bohn said.
The buyer will likely be someone who walks through the door and falls “completely in love” with the home, she said. “It’s going to be very hard to find another home like this.”
